The first lesson is a major one; I really learned it in a hurry. Are you ready for it? Airport parking is expensive. Really expensive. Basically the LaGuardia airport has a lot of parking spaces available for people who need to leave their cars there for a couple weeks. By a lot I mean tons. At the time of writing this only about 60% of there spaces are filled. They have extra room, so it makes sense that the parking would be pretty cheap, right? The first day of parking at the airport costs a whopping $33. The next day will cost you another $33. Fortunately, after that, the price goes down to $18 a day after that. I have done a lot of travelling, and these rates are some of the highest I have ever seen. Most airports charge $15 a day from the beginning, but not here. So if you are trying to shop around for a cheap parking deal don't bother, because everything here is exorbitantly priced.
Secondly, the parking is actually pretty convenient. It is all located in a nice area pretty close to where you need to get off. I have been to many places where you need a hike to get to the airport from where you parked and it is not pleasant. The location of the parking can actually save you a lot of time, and it is a welcome relief from the inane layouts of most other parking garages.
If only all parking layouts were this convenient. |
Ultimately, LaGuardia Airport Parking is a necessary evil any traveler must endure. It may be a little bit expensive, but it is convenient and the only option available.
